About

About

Gazing Grain Press is an independent, inclusive feminist literary press staffed by alumni of the George Mason University creative writing MFA program. Each year, the press publishes a chapbook of poems and a chapbook of prose, with a special emphasis on hybrid work. Gazing Grain also publishes book reviews, interviews, and ephemera, and maintains a feminist resource database. Gazing Grain Press is generously sponsored by the Fall for the Book literary festival, an annual, week-long event based out of George Mason University. Our name derives from a line in the poem “[Because I could not stop for Death],” by one of our favorite feminist poets, Emily Dickinson.
